AKL wins £1.6m Liberty Wharf tender

26th April 2007 - Air Design (Kent) Ltd. "AKL" has
won a £1.6m contract to carry out all mechanical work on the
Liberty Wharf five-storey office headquarters, set to become the
hub of Jersey’s premium new retail, office and residential
development.
All, ventilation, plumbing, drainage and sanitary
ware throughout the development will be installed by AKL with air
conditioning being supplied by manufacturers Daikin.
AKL’s managing director Gary Weatherill
said “Liberty Wharf represents another significant contract
for AKL and we are proud to be involved in this prestigious development”.
Liberty Wharf is one of several state-of-the-art
developments being built by Deerglen (Jersey) Ltd on the St Helier
waterfront with completion set for September 2007. The creator of
Sydney’s Darling Harbour, Eric Kuhne, is responsible for the
architectural transformation taking place in the town, with a design
backed by government agency, the Waterfront Enterprise Board.
With over 20 years of working in the construction
industry, Liberty Wharf adds to AKL’s impressive client list,
which includes companies such as The Millennium Dome, Tesco, Glaxo
Smith Kline, Saga Group, Besso Group, Habib Bank and Comme des Garcons.
